Fighting Sentencing Enhancements.
Aggressive, sophisticated legal representation when everything is at stake.
The Threat
The presence of a weapon during an alleged crime can double your sentence. Under 18 U.S.C. § 924(c), 'using' or 'carrying' a firearm during a crime of violence or drug trafficking offense adds mandatory consecutive sentences—5 years for possession, 7 for brandishing, 10 for discharge.
Our Defense
We fight to suppress the weapon as evidence. If the gun wasn't used, we argue against the dangerous 'use and carry' enhancements that prosecutors use as leverage. We challenge whether the underlying offense qualifies for the enhancement at all.
